Oil Painting 101

I’ve always wanted to learn oil painting.  I personally think oil paintings are beautiful and dramatic and I’ve been hell bent on expressing that drama in me through such a traditionally artistic medium.  Upon reading up on oil painting as a way to do something about my desire to actually dabble in it, I learned a lot of useful things. For one, oil paint dries slower than most other paints, like say, acrylic, which makes it easier to blend, refine and revise so that you can listen to the artist in your head and heed his call when he fickly changes his mind.
