Highly Recommended Embassy Suites in Lubbock

21 December 2010

My family and I were in the town of Lubbock, Texas to visit some friends and family. While we were there, we decided to stay at the Embassy Suites Lubbock. We’ve always had good luck with Hilton hotel brands and this chain in particular. Thankfully, all of our expectations were met. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was very nice and clean. I found no issues with it. The room was quite spacious as well. The entire family enjoyed the hot breakfast that we got every day at the hotel. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

Free Cookies and Milk at Night

21 December 2010

One of the best gestures I have ever given by a hotel came when I stayed at the Magnolia Hotel Denver. People who stay at this hotel will be able to enjoy free cookies and milk at night. You may think that this would be good for children, but many adults like this gesture as well. Instead of going outside the hotel to try to find a late night snack, I just went down to the lobby area and grabbed some cookies and milk. Staying at the Magnolia Hotel Denver was a good experience for me. Everything about this hotel was great, even the cookies and milk.

Do you need a holiday?

20 December 2010

Tired?  Stressed?  Cold?  Snowed under by work – or if you’re in the UK, by actual snow?  You need a holiday!  Just imagine: instead of in your dreary hometown you could be beach-hopping the eastern coast of Australia, heading out on safari in southern Africa, navigating the teeming Amazon in Brazil, exploring Prague’s backstreets and ancient churches, chugging eastwards across Russia on the Trans Siberian Railway, eating everything under the sea in friendly, safe Japan… the options are limitless!

But before you rush off down the travel agents to book, make sure you plan for the worst to make your holiday the best!  That means – as boring as it is – getting comprehensive travel insurance.  There are a mass of companies available, selling similar products, but one such company to consider that offers you medical coverage, contents coverage (for your precious luggage!) and covers a whole other host of mishaps is TID.  Check their policies for full details, but before you go and get yourself booked up for your dream holiday, be sure and use this tid promotion code which will get you a healthy 5% discount off the policy price.

So: holiday booked?  Check… Travel insurance sorted?  Check… Immunisations up to date?  Check… All that’s left to do is jet off to an exciting world of luxury and leave your worries behind!

Safe travels!

Dad Wants to Know What to Buy His Grandaughter For Christmas

19 December 2010

Last week, my dad called me to ask me what he could buy my daughter, Susan, for Christmas. I told my daughter that I thought Susan would like new luggage for Christmas. I told my dad that Susan had been talking about getting new luggage for her upcoming trip to China. I also told my dad that Susan just found out that her Chinese class was going to be staying at the Dusit Princess hotel. I was surprised when my dad said that he had heard of the hotel. He said he heard that it was really nice and that it was located right on the beach.

My Grandfather Remembers Living in New York

18 December 2010

My grandfather was a little concerned when I told him that I would be living in New York later this summer. My grandfather remembers what New York was like many decades ago, which were not all good memories based on the stories that he has told me over the years. I told him that I would be living in TriBeCa and that the area is quite safe and the people are very friendly. I told him about the parks located nearby and how there are always tons of small kids playing there during the day. I think he is still a little worried, but then again, this is what grandfather’s do.

Amazing Vacation in Chiang Rai

18 December 2010

So far, my vacation in Thailand has been more than I would have ever expected. Everyone is so accommodating, and the food is just heavenly. Today, I found out that there is a festival going on locally, so I am going to check it out. The front desk at the Chiang Rai Luxury Hotel I am staying in is ordering some transportation for me to get there. I have just enough time to grab a quick bite to eat at a local restaurant before I head over to the festival. There is so much to see and do while I am here.
