Why should we back up our wii games?

I’ts a question that you’ll see popping up in gaming forums every now and again: what is the best way to go about doing wii game backups? - but the question that I feel should really be answered before that is: why back up wii games at all? And the answer is pretty straightforward - we backup wii games as it makes good economic sense to do so. If I’m paying up to $50 for new wii games then the last thing I  want is to have to fork out another $50 should my original purchased discs become damaged in any way. It is therefore simply prudent to make backup copies of my original game discs.
